I used to know a guy who used to confabulate quite a bit. For the record, he didn’t lie all of the time, but when he did, they were doozies.
He told us that he knew Janet Jackson personally, and partied with her, and knew numerous Suns players, and probably partied with them too. I don’t recall who he said he knew, as I truly am not a basketball fan, but the other guys I worked with found it to be funny.
The funniest lie was that he was in the NFL draft “years ago”, and was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons. Now, this dude was in pretty dumpy shape, as he had enough seniority to be lazy when he wanted to be. This lie was the focus of my above cartoon, which is basically that he cut and pasted his head onto a better-muscled and darker complected body.
I liked the guy, and I think overall what I was trying to say when I showed him the artwork was ‘be yourself’.
