I finally finished work on some art for a friend so he can have a tattoo that brings glory to Christ. Light inks above.
fully inked Ichthus w/ nails.
What is the ‘Ichthus’ ? Well, its that little fishy symbol that adorns so many cars all across this great land of ours.
The ‘fish’ dates back to the time of the early church, during the Roman persecution, when believers were not able to worship openly.
In the Greek, IXOYE.
It was an acrostic that contained the essence who Jesus is:
I – Jesus
X – Christ
O – God
Y – Son
E – Savior
I see the possibility of the church returning to a time of persecution in this ‘enlightened‘, ‘yes we can’ age of tolerance and all of that other emotionally-driven tripe.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m an artist. I create things. I’m very in touch with my emotional core, but emotion shouldn’t run our lives my people. We need to think.
Oh, and for the church legalists out there, my answer is “Yes”. You can have a tattoo and go to heaven. Jesus wants us for what’s inside, not for what were scraping to do to our outsides.
I’ll end up with a tat someday, once I’m a thousandaire I’ll actually consider it.

I love your art. Keep creating it. I beleive that when we are truly inspired we are that much closer to the divine that drives us all, even if we are unaware of the presence.
I love this design. I have been wanting to get a tattoo for a while, but i want to get something that is meaningful to me. So many get some random design or symbol that they really dont know anything about.

this is awesome… would you be in favor of me using this for a tattoo? i have yet to get my religious tattoo and i just recently started my journey with walking with God and i came across this design and its great.. let me know i wouldnt ever want to use someones art without their permission… God Bless

Thanks so much for uploading this pic aye. I recently got this done on my left fore arm. With the nails shaded gray and the IKTHUS shaded with the tones of blood red and a black under layer. THe things almost healed and I’m so stoked with the out come aye. Anyways just wanted to encourage to keep going strong for him aye!!!
