abandoned warrior

first abandoned, later redeemed...

This was an abandoned sketch that I did some time ago.  It just wasn’t turning out the way I wanted.  My typical asymmetry gave way to symmetry, and then I didnt like the shape of the helmet. Blah. Not to mention a few other things…

…but today I looked at my doodle and thought, “I’m going to try to polish it up a bit…”  and I did.

Even though this has ink squiggles from me testing other pens etc, and unerased red-lines, it’s still able to be saved from the trash. I liked the face of the guy I drew inside the faulty suit of armor.  He is tenacious, a fighter, a warrior.

Call me sentimental, but today I had plenty of time to just sit there quietly with my son as he tries to wrap his head around why he had a potential heart attack at 19.  Today seemed like a good day for second chances.

If you want to hear more about my eldest son, come on over to our family blog:   www.azmann6.com

I’ll try to do my best to explain what’s been going down with him. :-)
